Above & Beyond presents Oceanlab - Sirens Of The Sea

Oceanlab es uno de los alias de Above & Beyond, un trio británico de DJs Trance formado por Jonathan "Jono" Grant, Tony McGuinness y Paavo Siljamäki. Ha adquirido fama por sus numerosas remezclas, así como producciones, generalmente apegadas a los sub-géneros: vocal, anthem y progresivo.

El grupo fue fundado en Londres en el año 2000. En el año 2006, Above & Beyond fue votado como el 9º mejor del mundo por la revista DJmag. Desde el 2007 ocupa el 11º según TheDjlist y han sido votados como el 6º en el top 100 de la DJmag, subiendo 3 puestos respecto al año anterior.

Los viernes de 19:00 a 21:00 (GMT), Above & Beyond presenta Trance Around the World, programa de radio conducido por ellos mismos con sede en Londres, Reino Unido y trasmitido por Anjunabeats Radio y a todo el mundo por diferentes estaciones de radio. Actúan este 10 de Octubre en Londres, a ver si puedo verlos :)

El album que nos ocupa fue editado durante este verano a través de su sello Anjunabeats y muestra gran parte de lo enorme de su potencial como productores y de la calidad del trance como música, se compone de 13 temas:

A State Of Trance 2008

Recientemente se ha publicado el último volumen de A State Of Trance, el recopilatorio de 2 CDs en formato sesión que anualmente publica Armin Van Buuren. El primer CD es más tranquilo mientras que el segundo tira más de uplifting. Lo cierto es que me ha sorprendido bastante este ASOT a mejor; y es que aunque su programa de radio me gusta bastante, no ha ocurrido lo mismo con sus recopilatorios.

Asian Dub Foundation o ADF es una banda musical de dub que mezcla ritmos de drum and bass y reggae con melodías tradicionales de la India y letras de rap (raggamuffin),[1] originaria de Londres, Inglaterra y conformada por Dr. Das, Deeder Zaman, DJ Pandit G, Chandrasonic y Sun-J.

Película de Max Payne

Aunque ya se había anunciado hace un par de años, ha sido durante estos meses cuando se ha podido ver material referente a la película, producida por 20th Century Fox. El reparto es el siguiente:

Parece que salen la mayoría de personajes principales, aunque se han olvidado de Vinnie Gognitti, de Punchinello y de Vladimir. También aparecen personajes nuevos como Lincoln DeNeuf y Christa Balder, que imagino que será la esposa de Alex. Como era de esperar parece que se han olvidado de las subhistorias que existen en el juego para centrarse en la trama central: Valkyr V, lo que conlleva la muerte de Michelle, la entrada de Max Payne en la DEA , lla muerte de Alex y la traición de BB y la búsquedad del distribuidor de la droga en Nueva York (que en el videojuego llevaría a Max a Vinnie y Punchinello) hasta llegar a Nicole Horne y a la Aesir Corporation. Lo cierto es que si lo han preparado bien puede ser muy buena película.

Lo que más me preocupa por ahora es la ausencia de Vladimir Lem y de Vinnie Gognitti, personajes claves en Max Payne 2, habrá que ver qué argumento preparan en el caso de una posible secuela.

TRAILER:

En el trailer se puede ver a Lupino con sus delirios habituales, las pesadillas de Max Payne personificadas en la película como ángeles oscuros, Mona Sax usando sus armas de mujer (parece que tendrá más protagonismo en la película que en el juego), a Max huyendo de un tiroteo en la Aesir Corporation...

5 veces al cine en 2 semanas, nuevo récord. De este mes destaca que las películas me han gustado en general, la sorpresa de Street Dance (iba con pocas espectativas a ésta, pero las tomas de break dance eran bastante espectaculares) y el fiasco de La Momia 3.
