Momentos Musicales: [2009] Sander Van Doorn - Ninety

Este tema creo que lo oí por primera vez en la Dusk Till Doorn que organizó Sander en Ministry of Sound a finales de Mayo (crónica). Después se lo fui oyendo en sesiones suyas y en algún que otro Identity Mix, en todos los tracklists salía como ID, luego empezó a conocerse como "Purple Haze - ID". Ya me imaginaba que era el nuevo tema de Sander ya que solo lo ponía él. Después de meses de espera por fin sale a la venta, anda que no me ha costado conseguirlo, 5 meses detrás de él.

Arnej es un canadiense de 29 años que comenzó a darse a conocer en 2007 y 2008 con temas como They Always Come Back o The Ones That Get Away sobre todo gracias al apoyo de DJs como Armin Van Buuren. Actualmente es uno de los productores de progressive trance más destacados a nivel mundial.

La única vez que he visto en directo a Arnej (ASOT 400 UK) empezó su set con este tema. Como eso fue en Abril pensaba que el tema ya había sido editado pero parece ser que no salió a la venta hasta el mes pasado. Me encanta la atmósfera que desprende el tema, aunque los recuerdos que me trae de aquél día en Birmingham seguro que tienen mucho que ver :)

Freed From Desire fue uno de los primeros temas que escuché cuando empecé a salir hace algo más de 10 años, lo que me sorprende es que el tema aún sonase 2 años después de haber salido. Un poco de info sacada de wikpedia:

Gala Rizzato conocida como Gala, nacida el 6 de septiembre de 1975 en Milán es una cantante y compositora italiana afincada en Nueva York. Es una artista de culto de eurodance, que desapareció de escena en la cima de su carrera.

Lanzó el álbum “Come into my life” en 1997 con los éxitos : “Freed from Desire”, “Let a Boy cry”, “Come into my Life” y “Suddenly”. La canción “Freed from Desire” fue un éxito mundial, seguido de muchos más sencillos de éxito, sobre todo en Europa. Realizó una gira por Europa donde la acompañó el bailarín de flamenco Rafael Amargo, sobre todo para la puesta en escena del sencillo “Come into my life”, coreografía basada en el flamenco, género del que Gala es una gran admiradora.

Momentos Musicales: [2002] Safri Duo - Samb Adagio

Este finde fueron las fiestas de Torrecilla, con lo habitual de los últimos años: Orquesta, Batucada y Pinchadiscos. Por lo que me dijeron la orquesta debió ser bastante mala (más de lo habitual) y adelantaron la batucada media hora que tocó 1 hora en vez de los 30 minutos previstos.

El pinchadiscos (a eso no se le llama DJ) era Disco Show Nacho (XDD) así que no esperaba nada bueno como así fue. De 3 horas de música sólo se salvó un tema, que es el momento musical de esta entrada. Como punto gracioso la orquesta se llamaba Scorpio, como uno de los mejores personajes-capítulo de los Simpson, foto arriba.
